Marco Muscogiuri

Marco Muscogiuri is an architect, Associate Professor at the Politecnico of Milan (Dep ABC), where he teaches Architectural Drawing and Representation.

His main fields of study are on the one hand the theory of architectural drawing, in particular the relationship between freehand and digital drawing and the innovation due to digital instruments and 3D printing; on the other hand the design of public spaces such as libraries and cultural buildings. He has been consultant for many Italian municipalities and public bodies in the field of the design of cultural buildings, with a special accent on public libraries. He designed many projects and participated in national and international competitions, receiving awards and recommendations.

Some of the most important projects include: the European Library of Information and Culture in Milan (with Bolles+Wilson); The Toy Museum in Rome; the new libraries in Meda, Melzo (Milano), Samarate (Varese); the urban renewal of the centre of Castenaso (Bologna) and San Giorgio Piacentino (with TAM Associati). The new library of Meda (Milano) has been selected in the short-listed finalists for the Gold Medal for Italian Architecture 2012.
