Marco Gianinetto

Marco Gianinetto is Associate Professor of Topography and Cartography at the School of Civil, Environmental and Land Management Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. He achieved the Master Degree in Environmental and Land Planning Engineering, and the PhD in Geodesy and Geomatics (summa cum laude) from Politecnico di Milano. 

His expertise are in the field of Remote Sensing and Geospatial Information Sciences. He is Co-Editor-in-Chief for the European Journal of Remote Sensing (Italy), Associate Editor for the International Journal of Remote Sensing (UK), Associate Editor for Journal of Applied Remote Sensing (USA), and Associate Editor for International Journal of Navigation and Observation (Egypt). From 2008 to 2011 he has been Associate Editor for the Italian Journal of Remote Sensing (Italy).

Marco has served on the scientific committees of more than 25 international conferences. He has been an evaluator and advisor for national and international research projects, including the Italian Ministry of Education University and Research (Italy), the Israel Science Foundation (Israel), the National Research Council of Romania (Romania), the Belgian Federal Science Policy Office (Belgium), and the French National Research Agency (France). Moreover, he has been the scientific advisor for the study “Space Market Uptake in Europe” commissioned by the Directorate General for Internal Policies – Policy Department A for the European Parliament.
