Elena Germana Mussinelli


ICAR/12 - Architectural technology

Architect and Ph.D., she is Full Professor of Architectural Technology at Politecnico di Milano. She undertakes teaching activities at the Scuola di Architettura e Società in the campus of Milano, Mantova and Piacenza. Since 2012 she is coordinator of the Doctoral Program “Progetto e tecnologie per la valorizzazione dei beni culturali” and since 2013 she is member of the Academy Board of the Doctoral Program “Architettura, ingegneria delle costruzioni e ambiente costruito”.  Since 2011 she is coordinator of the Bachelor Degree Program in Architettura e Produzione Edilizia and member of the School Council of the Scuola di Architettura e Società.

Her scientific interests mainly concern the environmental and technological design, with a particular regard to the innovation dynamics within the production of the project due to the new organizational trends of the building sector as well as to the updates of the legislative framework in the field of environmental quality. The several researches and technical consultancies conducted for both public and private institutions are mostly focused on an in-depth analysis of the normative, procedural and techno-typological issues, in order to manage the multi-scalar and the multidisciplinary implications of the environmental design within complex construction interventions as well as urban and building regeneration projects.

She is the author of many scientific publications investigating the topics of the environmental and technological design, the enhancement of the cultural and landscape heritage and the governance of complex processes of transformation of the built environment.
