ICAR/19 - Conservation and restoration of architecture

Architect and PhD in Earthquake Engineering, teaches Architectural Preservation. As coordinator of several national and international contracts, the research activity focuses on the technical and methodological aspects of the Preservation of Historical Buildings.
Authour of more than 200 papers concerning the diagnosis ad monitoring of the historic structures, the seismic vulnerability of diffuse architectural and monumental heritage, the study of the intervention and repair techniques applied to masonry buildings, characterisation of the historical materials and building techniques.
Since 2004, member of the SSBAP Board, the School in Architectural and Landscape Heritage, of the Politecnico di Milano and since 2005, member of the University Board of the Preservation of Architectural Heritage PhD program.
Member of committees – national and international – concerning the several topics of the Preservation of the Architectural Heritage and scientific reviewer for many international journals and research institutions.
First authour of the contribution recently awarded as Best Paper by a University Researcher at the International Conference on Structural Faults and Repair 2016.
