Through the application on the case study of the Istituto Auxologico Italiano, the Digital 3D project has developed an innovative business model for the design and management of complex buildings, establishing a third-party building management service “open control room”, integrating the Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology with a Facility Management platform.
Cloud integration of a shared 3D “network” environment that can be consulted via the web has been realized, a virtual space (“Control room”) where access to the model and the associated mass of Big Data is mediated by new professionals, who are able to activate the relationships between the data and provide continuous feedback to internal and external operators. The Control Room provides a rapid, structured and interactive survey of technical/energy, cadastral, accounting, tax, maintenance and warranty data.
BIM thus defined achieves a fully integrated third-level development, “iBIM”.
