ICAR/11 - Building production

Civil construction engineer, Doctor in research, he is a Professor of Construction Production in the Disciplinary Scientific ICAR-11 sector, head teacher in Technology and Safety in Building Yards and Safety Management in Construction Processes in the School of Construction Engineering and Architecture of the Politecnico di Milano, in the Leonardo Campus.
He coordinates the Construction Site Design Laboratory that he founded in the Faculty of Architecture of Constructions and Constructed Environment – ABC. The research laboratory works in a variety of fields of the construction process: the Organisation of Management Processes, focussing in particular on the implementation of the organisation and management of security on various corporate scales; the n-D Modelling of productive processes, applying – also on request – the BIM technique to the project of temporary and mobile building yards to real cases and developing intense research activity in the specific ambit of CoSIM: Construction Site Information Modelling; the project and health and safety management of construction and civil building sites; building yard technologies and sustainability, surveying the “non-wastable” resources of a construction and civil building yards, studying the consumption of energy of equipment, CO2 emissions and ways to reduce them.

Since 1996, he has been a director and lecturer of a number of permanent training courses for the qualification and updating of safety coordinators activated by the Politecnico di Milano and professional orders throughout the nation.
Author of a number of Italian and foreign publications and entire volumes regarding the project and the management of temporary and mobile building sites.
Safety supervisor in a number of public and private construction works, he is also a consultant for construction production for highly important national organisations and institutes.
Chairman of the Building Site Safety Commission of the Order of Engineers of Milan.
