ICAR/12 - Architectural technology

Architect, Phd graduate in Technical Innovation and Design in Architecture, AssociateProfessor in Technology of Architecture, reporting to the Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering Department (DABC), at the Politecnico of Milan, teaches Architectural Technology and Environmental Sustainability and Design.

Topic issues of the research activity are: sustainable buildings, indoor environmental quality (IEQ), indoor air quality (IAQ) and building design, building materials and their impact on indoor environment and on human health.

She has taken part to research programs promoted and sponsored by:

  • MIUR-Ministry of University and Research (main programs: “Building products evaluation in relation to their potential noxivity”, “Criteria and method to evaluate the ecofriendly buildings materials”),
  • Ministry of Environment (“Sino-Italian Ecological and Energy efficient Building at the Tsinghua University of Beijing”),
  • CNR-National Research Council (“Evaluation of building design procedures and monitoring activities of buildings without indoor air pollution problems”),
  • Ministry of Economic Development (“INNOVANCE: Product/process innovation for the energy efficiency and the sustainable development of the buildings”),
  • – ENEA-Italian National Agency for the New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (“Green Public Procurement Criteria for windows”),
  • Government of Lombardy Region (“Guidelines for sustainable social housing”),
  • other private and public organization.

Since 1995, she has presented papers at major international conferences on IAQ-IEQ topics and sustainable buildings (Indoor Air, Healthy Buildings, World Sustainable Building, CIB, CISBAT, IAQVEC).

She was a member of the technical-scientific committee of the Ministry of Health with the aim to develop proposals for legislative action on pollution “indoor” (Group “Materials”), of the Working Group UNI-GL 13 ” Eco-friendly Building “, of the Mirror Commitee ISO/TC59/SC17 “Building construction/Sustainability in building construction”, of the Working Group for the definition of environmental criteria for Green Public Procurement (GPP) for the building materials, established by the Ministry of Environment. In Green Building Council-Italia is a member of the Scientific Committee-IQ (Indoor Environmental Quality).

Since 1997, she is member of the Lombardy Freelance Journalist Guild. She has published numerous technical and scientific publications relating to the research topics.
