HYMANTOVALLEY

Hydrogen Valley in the Province of Mantova

Luigi FREGONESE (docente coordinatore), Andrea ADMI, Laura TAFFURELLI, Martina VENERI, Federico BUCCI, Carlo PERABONI

HYMANTOVALLEY aims to demonstrate the de-carbonization of a rather polluted area of Europe, the Po Valley, through the construction of a replicable green ecosystem, as an integrated model of hydrogen production, storage, transport and use for heat, energy and mobility, including the development and use of hydrogen and zero-emission ships, trains, buses and buildings.
The project engages European and local communities and industries in clean energy production to create synergies with other regional innovation ecosystems through knowledge exchange and utilization of existing technologies.
HYMANTOVALLEY will develop a hydrogen value chain model in a unique trimodal transport and logistics system (inland water, rail, and road) located in the heart of Italy and close to two Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) corridors, as well as a European Center for Applied Research and Advanced Hydrogen Training focused on hydrogen value chain optimization and innovation, managed by international universities.

DABC role

The DABC research group is involved in the WP5 “Applied Research Hub”, and in particular in the following tasks. (5.1) Masterplan of the Project Area, oriented toward the sustainability goals, with integration of flows, production activities and research facilities. 3D survey of the area conducted by UAS monitoring with lidar sensor and thermal imaging camera. (5.2) Architectural design of the Research Campus, energy efficient and sustainable, and development of the infrastructural and architectural model in an integrated GIS/BIM environment.
