Graziano Salvalai

ICAR/10 - Architectural engineering

Graduated in Building and Architectural Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Italy, in 2006. He gets the PhD in 2010 with a thesis on passive cooling strategies for non-residential building in Mediterranean climate. He was visiting scientist at Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy System (ISE) in Freiburg (Germany). He is currently Associate professor at Politecnico di Milano at ABC Deparment (Architecture Built environment and Construction engineering). He teached “Energy Efficient Buildings” and “Technical architecture 2 – LAB” at Politecnico di Milano – Polo Territoriale di Lecco. He took part in two European projects: ThermCo (Low Energy Cooling and Thermal Comfort – Intelligenti Energy – Europe founded project) and EASEE (Envelope Approach to Improve Sustainability and Energy efficiency existing in multi-storey multi-owner residential buildings FP7). He is part of the research group of RE3_Lab – REfurbishment and Energy Efficiency Lab. He is also responsible for some consultancy works about the promotion of energy efficiency strategies for sustainable building in alpine area and for in situ measurement of building envelop thermal properties.  The research activity is supported by experimental work on the design of actual buildings. He is the author and reviewer of several articles on international peer-review journals.
