Daniele Giovanni Papi

Born in Milan in 1966, architect.
Initially, with Attilio Selvini and Giorgio Bezoari, he worked in the digital elaboration of image and algorithms of artificial intelligence for the automatic recognition of the form in architectural applications and especially archaeological ones: he developed the Engravex software. Together with the coordination of Luigi Mussio in the Department of Hydraulic, Environmental Engineering and Surveying, the research doctorate in Geodetic Sciences under the supervision of Fernando Sansò and Maria Brovelli which discusses with the thesis “Low Contrast Complex Feature Extraction from Digital Images”.
He published “Representation and Analysis of Archaeological Elements by an Original Digital Method” at the end of this initial research trend.
In 1998, he joined the Laboratory of Morphological Analysis and worked on themes of topology, computational geometry and representation as an element of the poietic method of form under the supervision of Vittorio Ugo.
Since 1996 he has taught a number of subjects in the Polytechnic and today is head of foundation courses in representation and tools of innovative representation of design.
Professionally, he has undertaken activities mainly focussed on themes of high technology survey and advanced representation.
In the design field, he has participated in competitions in Italy and abroad also as a member of work groups, held a number of roles in the field of private construction and set up of exhibitions.
He has built up vast academic and congress experience in Europe and the United States.
Since 2002 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Fondazione Corrente in Milan.
