Zero Energy Buildings in Smart Urban Districts

Giuliana IANNACCONE (docente coordinatore), Laura MALIGHETTI, Gabriele MASERA, Matteo RUTA, Graziano SALVALAI

The project focused on the definition of innovative solutions for the improvement of energy efficiency in public buildings and, specifically, in historical or listed buildings, where an extensive retrofit is more difficult and the use of non-invasive technologies is necessary. To this end, the project proposed a pervasive use of technologies for real-time monitoring and control of environmental parameters, energy consumption and production, also within the Smart Grid scenario. Appropriate web services are used to provide data to applications used by both end users and providers. The infrastructure allows interoperability between devices to facilitate interaction between smart buildings within a Smart-District.

DABC role

Design of the monitoring system for two typical environments, an office and a classroom, and its optimisation.
Analysis of the intervention scenarios in order to optimise the energy retrofit solutions of a case study chosen among the buildings of the Campus Leonardo of the Politecnico di Milano.
