BIMReL is a digital system for managing information throughout the entire life cycle of a building, based on information and technology needs.
Research and development activities were aimed to:
1) create an open-source interoperable database of products and components for buildings, based on the technical sheets linked to BIM objects, according to the most recent developments of Italian and international regulations;
2) develop a web platform in the cloud that can be used by multiple users (citizens, private clients, public administrations, designers, manufacturing companies, construction companies and trade associations), which allows a user-friendly but exhaustive consultation;
3) internationally promote Lombardy and national manufacturing companies through the visibility of their products;
4) popularize and validate the platform with the collaboration of some of the main stakeholders such as category associations of materials and components manufacturers.

DABC role

Coordination and project management.
Research activities aimed at structuring the platform:
• definition, structuring, census and analysis of the necessary information;
• clustering of users and definition of the respective access modes to the system;
• structuring of digital data sheets for BIM objects in compliance with UNI standards;
• analysis and design of the database for storing the system information;
• functional analysis of the new portal and design of the system’s front-end logic.
