The project aims at understanding the geography and the societal impacts of intraregional and interregional wage inequalities stemming from the current process of digital transition and at boosting social inclusiveness in policy agendas. Inequalities will be analyzed across different societal groups as much as within and across territories, based on a large-scale analysis of all Italian provinces in the period 2010-2020.
On the scientific ground, the project aims at advancing the academic debate by producing new knowledge, of relevance for multidisciplinary audience.
In terms of policy, the project, by developing a comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategy, aims not only at raising awareness in different societal and policy groups about the social consequences of the digital transformation but also at contributing to the creation of an anticipatory approach to the design and development of strategies, actions and policies oriented towards the creation of a more inclusive society.
DABC role
The project relies on the partnership between two organisations, POLIMI (Lead Institution) and Fondazione Sodalitas (Partner), with strong complementary skills and assets. In particular, POLIMI will take care of the mapping and analysis of the digital transformation archetypes in Italian regions and their impact on interregional and intraregional inequalities and wellbeing.
