Maria Pompeiana Iarossi

ICAR/17 - Representation of architecture

Architect and Phd. in Composizione architettonica at the IUAV of Venice, since 2001 she is a Researcher, sector Representation, at Department ABC- Architecture, Built environment and Construction engineering of the Politecnico di Milano.

Since 1998 she had teacheted representation and architectonic and urban survey at Politecnico di Milano, where she is in charge of the international relationships with universities of Granada, Valencia, Belgrano-Buenos Aires, Monterrey, Santiago of the Chile and Stüttgard.

Her activity of research is centralized on the survey in its various meanings and in various scales – territorial, urban, building and constructive – and on the development of the new systems of cartographic representation of the urban and rural settlements and the landscape.

In 2011 she participated, together with the Potsdam School of Architecture, to the coordination of the research program “Potsdam & Italien. Die in der Potsdamer Italienrezeption Baukultur “.

Since 2008 to 2014, she directed the research program “Portraits of cities in an interior”, founded by Fondazione Cariplo and involving the Universities of Bologna and RomaTre, together with museums, public agencies and private archives, Italian and foreigner.
