Fabrizio Leonforte


Master of Science in Engineering and Ph.D in technology and design for the built environmet, is a researcher at the Politecnico di Milano, ABC department. Starting from 2010 he has been actively involved in the field of renewable energy applications in buildings, low energy architecture and sustainable urban development, with a special focus on virtual simulation models.

He has been involved in national and international research programs related to energy efficiency in new and historical buildings as well as to sustainable building design for tropical climates.

From 2018 he his leader of the activity related to energy bulding simulation in the framework of the IEA Task 59 (Deep Renovation Of Historic Buildings towards lowest possible energy demand and CO2 emission).

Recently he become contributor of the handbook “Sustainable building design for tropical climates – Principles and applications for eastern Africa” edited in the international program: United Nations Human Settlements (UN-HABITAT) and Guidelines for Sustainable Energy Technologies for Food utilization by EU DG ECHO. He is also co-author of several relevant publications in scientific journal on the aforementioned issues.
