Cultural Heritage Innovation Adopting Risk Assessment. Advanced procedures for the enhancement of nationwide built heritage (positioned in isolated and/or peripheral locations)

Valeria PRACCHI (docente coordinatore), Cristina TEDESCHI

The project aims to develop vulnerability and risk indicators for cultural heritage in light of climate change, related to climatic and microclimatic factors. The result consists of defining an index – currently absent in the SIT risk chart – essential for ensuring perspectives for heritage conservation, planning, and intervention effectiveness. The research outcomes allow: i) assessing the effects of outdoor changes on heritage preservation; ii) establishing indoor air quality parameters, in relation to the health of people, architecture, and contained heritage; iii) educating decision-makers on heritage management; iv) verifying the interrelationships with pollutants present in the air. The project integrates data from different climatic contexts, employing new technologies for remote monitoring and control (sensors; low-cost monitoring devices; microclimatic modeling software).
