The project aims to develop a strategic plan to bridge maintenance based on the integration of acceleration data, collected via smartphones from the vehicles that cross them daily, into the continuous updating process of the finite element models (FEMU). Acceleration data collected using smartphones is used to extract the dynamic response of the bridge under different load conditions and integrated into a finite element model of the structure and its continuous updating. By combining real data with computer models, this integration provides a deep view of structural behaviour, an essential basis for the development of a strategic plan for proactive and efficient maintenance. This approach also optimizes resource allocation, improves safety and reduces the risk of structural failure, representing a significant advance in the practice of bridge maintenance.
