
Laura Daglio

Laura Daglio is a registered architect, PhD in “Innovazione Tecnica e Progetto nell’Architettura”, and associate professor in Architectural Technology at the Department of Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. Her research activities focus on two main topics: technological and typological studies concerning new construction as well as retrofitting and renovation (functional, morphological, technological) of public and private housing estates; environmental design and sustainability in architecture involving the adoption of innovative technologies and a renovated relationship with natural resources (vegetation, water). Since 1996 she has worked on research programmes funded by Ministries and Public Bodies at different levels and, for international projects. She has developed special competences in the organisation and scientific coordination of architecture exhibitions in Italy and abroad. She has presented the results of her research work at international conferences and seminars, as guest speaker and through peer reviewed paper submission. She is Member of Scientific Committees (editorial and advisory boards, seminars scientific coordination), Evaluation Committees (Competition Juries, peer reviewer) and Scientific Communities within Politecnico di Milano and at National level. She is the author of books, essays, articles in reviews and of academic papers included in international conference proceedings, on topics related to sustainability in architecture and environmental comfort at different scales. In practice, she has worked on award winning projects that include renovations and new buildings in both the public and private sector. As a registered architect she was in charge of various projects of new construction, renovation, restoration and maintenance, for public buildings (school, social services, buildings for the arts) and private multifamily buildings from the design phase to construction management.
