Ornella Iuorio è Professoressa Associata di Ingegneria Edile-Architettura presso il Politecnico di Milano (IT). In precedenza, è stata Professoressa Ordinaria e Titolare della Cattedra di Architettura e Strutture presso l'Università di Leeds, Regno Unito, e Program Leader in Ingegneria Edile-Architettura. La Professoressa Iuorio detiene un portafoglio di progetti di ricerca finanziati per oltre 6,5 milioni di euro, finanziati da EPSRC, ESRC, Innovate UK e British Academy. Ha inoltre guidato un World University Network (WUN_BRIC) e ha ottenuto una borsa di studio presso il Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, USA). È Vicepresidente dell'International Association of Structures and Architecture (IASA) e attualmente presiede la 7a Conferenza Internazionale ICSA2027. È Associate Editor della rivista "Architecture, Structure and Construction". In riconoscimento del suo lavoro, nel 2022 è stata premiata come una delle "Top 50 Women in Engineering: "Inverters & Innovators" e il suo lavoro è stato esposto in diverse sedi, tra cui la Biennale di Venezia del 2023, dove ha presentato "Set in transition", un guscio autoportante a secco assemblato roboticamente.

Laurea (cum laude) in Architettura presso l'Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II.

Dottorato di Ricerca in "Progettazione, Analisi e Sperimentazione delle Strutture" presso l'Università degli Studi G. D'Annunzio di Chieti, Pescara.

La Professoressa Iuorio vanta una consolidata reputazione nel mondo accademico e industriale per le innovazioni nei settori della progettazione sostenibile di strutture leggere e della produzione avanzata. Con il suo gruppo, AS_Lab, esplora le opportunità offerte dagli strumenti computazionali, dalla prefabbricazione, dai sistemi in acciaio leggero, dalla produzione avanzata e dalla robotica per la creazione di sistemi costruttivi innovativi, resilienti e a basse emissioni di carbonio.

Coordina l'AS_LAB del Politecnico di Milano.
