D'Antino Tommaso

Associate Professor

Tommaso D’Antino is an Associate Professor of Structural Analysis and Design. He received his BS/MS degree in building engineering and his PhD in structural engineering from the University of Padova (Italy). His research is focused on the use of organic- and inorganic-matrix composites for strengthening and retrofitting existing concrete, masonry, timber, and steel structures. He has also been studying the use of composite bars as an alternative to traditional steel bars to reinforce new concrete members in particular conditions. He is a member of several national and international standard and research committees, such as fib Task Group 5.1, Rilem 250-CSM, 290-IMC, and 292-MCC, and ACI Committee 549-0L. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Composites for Construction (ASCE), Materials and Structures (Springer), and the European Journal of Environmental and Civil Engineering (Taylor & Francis), as well as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Structural Concrete (Journal of the fib).
