Trani Marco Lorenzo Agostino

Associate Professor

Deputy Coordinator of the Master's Degree Program in Building Systems Engineering, professor of Construction Site Safety and Engineering and Ergonomic Construction Site Modeling, and co-professor of the Project & Information Management course. He teaches second-level Master's courses in BIM/CoSIM. He is a visiting professor for the "European Master in Building Information Modeling" at the Universities of Ljubljana (SLO) and Minho (P). He is the author of numerous publications on the design and management of the executive phase of new construction, renovation, and restoration projects. Since 1996, he has been Director and Professor of numerous training and refresher courses for safety coordinators at universities, professional associations, and engineering firms. As a certified Safety Coordinator, he has worked, in various capacities, on complex construction sites including the restoration of the Teatro alla Scala, the Palazzo Reale and the facades of the Torre Velasca in Milan, the bridge over the Strait of Messina, the high-speed railway on the Milan-Novara route, Palazzo Italia at EXPO 2015, and the Basilica of Collemaggio in L'Aquila.

Career

Civil-Construction Engineer (MSc), PhD in Ergonomic Construction Engineering, Professor of Building Production (SSD CEAR-08/B) at the AUIC School of the Polytechnic University of Milan. Member of the Order of Engineers of the Province of Milan, qualified Safety Coordinator for design and execution. Chairman of the Construction Site Safety Commission of the Order of Engineers of Milan (2010-2017), currently an active member. Chairman and Tender Commissioner for public works contracts. Technical Consultant to the Public Prosecutor or Parties in proceedings concerning the organization, safety, and health of workers on construction sites. Member designated by UNI for the reference practices "Digital Management of Construction Site Safety Documentation" and "Sustainable Construction Site Impact". Member designated by the ABC Department as UNI Commissioner for the revision of the 11337 standard on BIM.

Research

Founder and Scientific Director of the Construction Site Laboratory (Con.Si.Lab.) at the Department of Architecture, Construction Engineering, and the Built Environment (ABC) at the Polytechnic University of Milan. The laboratory's main activities are research and technical-scientific consulting in the fields of economical, sustainable, and safe construction site design and management using Building Information Modeling (BIM/CoSIM) and AI. He is the author of numerous publications on the design and management of the executive phase of new construction, renovation, and restoration processes in the context of Construction Site Information Modeling (CoSIM) and the application of Artificial Intelligence methods and tools in the construction sector.
