Grecchi Manuela

Since 1983, she has been involved in research and teaching at the Politecnico di Milano, where she graduated and obtained her PhD. Her main research interests concern the transformation of unrestricted building heritage through adaptive reuse strategies, with a particular focus on requirements and comfort. She has participated and continues to participate in numerous international and national research projects.She is the author of over 90 publications and has supervised numerous master's and doctoral theses.From 2011 to 2025, she held institutional roles. In particular, from 2011 to 2016, she contributed to the development of projects and strategies for the improvement of the Politecnico's campuses, as head of the building heritage and the university Energy Commission.From 2017 to 2025, she was Vice-Rector of the Lecco Campus, developing strategies and projects with local clinical institutions on issues related to personal well-being and social inclusion.

Research

Research activities in the field of building renovation and adaptive reuse of existing heritage, with a particular focus on energy efficiency and the circular economy, through the use of building technologies and construction materials linked to the context.
