Cantini Lorenzo

Associate Professor

Lorenzo Cantini has been an Associate Professor of Architectural Restoration since September 2024. After graduating in Architecture from Politecnico di Milano in 1999, he subsequently earned a PhD with honors in the Architecture, Urban Design, Conservation of Housing and Landscape doctoral program at the same university. He has participated in several national and international research projects on the analysis of materials and historic structures, exploring experimental techniques for assessing the state of conservation of historic buildings. He is currently the scientific coordinator of the agreement between Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo and Politecnico di Milano, a member of the Department's Scientific Committee, and the University's delegate for the Technical Innovation in Cultural Heritage (TICHE) consortium.

Vulnerability of historic structures;

Interpretation of the mechanical behavior of historic masonry;

Calibration of non-destructive and minimally invasive techniques for verifying the construction systems of historic buildings;

Enhancement of the built heritage;

Planned conservation of historic buildings.
