Iannaccone Giuliana

Full Professor

Professor of Architectural Engineering, she has taught several courses in the field of construction technology, focusing for the past decade on teaching integrated building design and architectural engineering lab. Passionate about innovative teaching models, since 2017 she has also been teaching in collaborative online international learning (COIL) courses. Author of numerous international scientific publications, she has presented her work at international scientific conferences, invited lectures at universities and continuing education seminars for professionals.

Career

Five-year Master’s Degree in Architecture, Summa Cum Laude (1998).

PhD in Architectural Technology (2003).

Research

She is involved in collaborative research projects in the field of zero-carbon buildings, both new and existing, funded at regional, national ed European level. In particular, her primary research efforts have been to study and develop innovative strategies and technological solutions for the decarbonisation of the building sector, exploiting, in particular, the potential of cross-disciplinary, systems thinking approaches. Due to the long-term challenges of the urban built environment, she has more recently initiated interdisciplinary collaborations to introduce futures thinking methods to support her research in the field. Also in relation to these competencies, she contributed to the development of foresight activities in the university on different topics to explore the possible impacts of disruptive technologies on the future society.
