Colombi Pierluigi

Full Professor

Prof. Pierluigi Colombi is full professor at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. His research interests cover or have covered the stochastic fatigue crack propagation, fracture mechanics, biomechanics, strengthening and repair of steel, concrete and masonry structures using composite materials (FRP and FRCM), steel structures and stochastic dynamics. He was delegate and member of the organization committee at several National and International Conferences, editor of special issues and reviewer of International Journals (dedicated to construction materials, composites materials and composite structures). Author of more than 170 publications on national/international journals, book chapters or monographs.

Career

Laurea (Master of Science) in Civil Engineering (110/110 with honors) in October 1989.

PhD degree in Structural Engineering at the University of Pavia – Politecnico di Milano in January 1996.

Research

Stochastic fatigue crack growth, random vibrations, steel structures, biomechanics (in the past) and structural rehabilitation using composite materials (currently).
