
Atta Nazly
Researcher
Nazly Atta is Tenure Track Researcher in the Scientific-Disciplinary Sector “CEAR-08/C Technological and Environmental Design of Architecture” at the Department of Architecture, Built environment and Construction engineering (ABC) of Politecnico di Milano. She conducts teaching and research activities in the field of Architectural Technology, with a focus on innovative technologies and processes aimed at the environmental sustainability of buildings throughout their life cycle. Her research interests include circular economy, facility management, maintenance and digitalization for the design and management of a sustainable built environment. She is lecturer at national and international conferences and author of over 70 publications on these topics. She participates in European projects such as RE-SKIN and SPHEERE and was WP coordinator within ReNetTA project.
From 2022 to 2024, she was Junior Researcher at the ABC Department of Politecnico di Milano.
In 2022, she obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification for the role of Associate Professor in the “08/C1 Design and Technological Planning of Architecture” sector.
In 2019, she obtained a PhD with honors at the ABC Department of Politecnico di Milano with a thesis on the adoption of information and communication technologies for the efficient and sustainable management of buildings and integrated facility management services.
In 2017, she was Visiting Researcher at the Department of Management in the Built Environment at the Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands.

- Innovative design-for -disassembly and -maintainability strategies for the development of circular solutions at the product and building scale;
- Circular strategies for extending the lifecycle of construction materials and products;
- Closed-loop organizational models for the reuse and remanufacturing of post-use building products;
- Information and Communication Technologies (e.g., information platforms, e-marketplaces, digital product passports, digital twins, blockchain, AI, etc.) to support circular practices in the construction sector;
