Castaldo Giovanni

Architect, PhD in Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering (29th cycle). Since January 2024, he has been Senior Researcher (RTDB) at the Department of Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering (ABC), Politecnico di Milano (CEAR-08/C – Technological and Environmental Design of Architecture), where he served as Junior Researcher (RTDA) from 2021 to 2024. Since 2013, he has been a member of the ENVI-Reg Research Group, focusing on technological and environmental design at urban and building scales, with emphasis on urban regeneration, outdoor environmental and microclimatic improvement, and special housing design. He obtained the National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor (2021) and serves on the MUR Committee (M.D. 481/2024) for PNRR student housing evaluation. He teaches in Technological and Environmental Design of Architecture and has taught at Xi’an Jiaotong University.

Ricerca

Technological and environmental design with a focus on urban regeneration, environmental and microclimatic redevelopment of open spaces, and the design of unique housing. Climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies. Predictive environmental and microclimatic assessments and simulations. Design of Nature-based Solutions (NBS) at the urban and building scales.
