Bonfante Francesca

She has held several institutional positions at the Politecnico di Milano; she is currently a member of the PhD Board in Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering. Among the universities where she has taught and conducted research: the Faculty of Architecture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Parma, the Faculty of Architecture La Cambre Horta of the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), and the School of Urban Design of Wuhan University.

Career

MA in Architecture, Politecnico di Milano (1984). PhD in Architectural Composition, IUAV Venice (1991).

Research

She conducts research in the field of architectural composition and design, particularly on complex buildings for collective activities (schools, universities, sports and leisure, etc.) in relation to public urban facilities and spaces. In this regard, she carries out demonstrative design experiments on innovative typological structures, conceived as possible “prototypes” that can be replicated in different urban areas with similar characteristics. This line of research has been reflected in publications, participation in conferences, seminars, exhibitions, and competitions.
