
Mazzucchelli Enrico Sergio
Associate Professor
Graduated in Building Engineering in 2001 (Politecnico di Milano), he is Associate Professor of Architectural Engineering (SSD CEAR-08/A) at the ABC Department (Architecture Built environment and Construction engineering), Politecnico di Milano. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the ABC Department and vice-coordinator of the Master's Degree Course "Building Engineering for Sustainability". He is an expert in the performance assessment of innovative building components and systems, with particular focus on building envelopes, integration and harmonization of building services and renewable energy systems in Zero Energy and Zero Carbon Buildings, timber construction systems with industrialized prefabrication technologies and techniques, and retrofit of existing buildings. He is author of books, international conference papers and journal articles. He is member of associations and scientific committees, national and international, including "CIBW098 - Intelligent and responsive buildings" - International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction and “European Façade Network” (EFN).
Research
The main research areas include:
- performance assessment of innovative materials, components, and systems for building envelopes;
- MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) systems integration in buildings;
- renewable energy systems integration in buildings;
- climate change and building resilience;
- timber construction systems.
