
Chizzoniti Domenico Giuseppe
Full Professor
Domenico Chizzoniti is Full Professor in Architectural Design at Politecnico di Milano, ABC Department. He is a coordinator of several national and international research programs focused on the process of city reconstruction (i.e. urban and rural built environments after destruction by “natural” disasters, warfare, conflict), including immediate response, transitional settlement, and long-term reconstruction, incorporating sustainable development principles and community participation. As a visiting professor, he was invited to several international Universities. He leads AIALab (Aesthetical Impact Assessment LAB - IA based).

Research
Support for Public Administrations, public bodies, Ministries and private clients in projects involving change of use and spatial reorganization/adaptation of buildings and spaces of historical and cultural significance;
Support for Public Administrations, public bodies, Ministries and private clients in projects aimed at recontextualizing buildings and spaces of historical and cultural significance;
Development of new models for the use of integrated museum systems to enhance cultural assets and to promote tangible and intangible cultural heritage;
Development of innovative models for social and healthcare infrastructure, education, sports, tertiary and residential facilities (new-build and conversion), public spaces, and the related urban and territorial interconnection networks;
Development of new building/real-estate products in the field of co-living, co-working and related services;
Development and refinement of user-/community-centered design models;
Development and refinement of multiscale design and technological strategies to mitigate the effects of climate change and pollution, as well as adaptation and prevention measures.
