2012-2014

The TIFAIN – Integrated photovoltaic glass tiles for innovative architectural applications research project aimed to create photovoltaic glass tiles that are energy efficient and have a pleasant and modular aesthetic appearance, suitable for integration into the architectural surface of buildings facade.
The innovative Tifain tile is made of transparent glass, medium-large in size and with a complex shape, and can be produced by molding – a relatively economical and environmental friendly technique when compared to the typical processes of the production of float glass for construction. It has a central area that can be transparent and opaque capable of taking on different treatments and colors and hosting photovoltaic cells.
