It is a shading roofing system made from textile waste, designed to draw creative attention to a large-scale problem such as the accumulation of unused textile material. E’ this is the message of the T-SHADE project of the students of the Ultra-Light Systems Design Course of the Polytechnic of Milan, created in collaboration with Humana. The organization, in fact, provided the raw material free of charge (i.e. 150 t-shirts intended for recycling) with which the triangular module structure installed by the students was designed. Inspired by the Xtra Moenia project of the Softlab studio in New York, T-SHADE is a project headed by “Textile Hub”, the research laboratory on textiles and polymers of the Polytechnic, and which aims to raise awareness through recycling on the topic of unused textiles.
