Pyramidion Kha 3D survey

2023

In June 2023, a three-dimensional survey activity with photogrammetric techniques and scanners was conducted at the Louvre Museum in Paris. The object of the survey was the Pyramidion of the Kha funerary chapel located and close to the workers' village of Deir el-Medina, Luxor, Egypt.

The Pyramidion, made of stone and rich in details, constitutes the top part of the pyramid that surmounts the funerary chapel of the superintendent of the necropolis works.

With this last phase of survey it is possible to virtually reconstruct the entire complex composed of the chapel, the funerary well and the grave goods that are housed in the Egyptian Museum of Turin and which is currently being digitized. The three-dimensional models have been placed in a single virtual environment, currently accessible to the curators of the Egyptian Museum, and which can be made available to visitors in an interactive way in the future.
