Pre-feasibility study for the construction of a Community Hospital located in the municipality of Verrès (AO)

2023
The pre-feasibility study set itself the objective of defining the most suitable solution for the construction of the new Verrès Community Hospital. The prefeasibility study offered a series of scenarios and technical analyses to be able to support the Valle d'Aosta Region in the strategies to be implemented for the construction of the second regional Community Hospital.
In relation to the second health district of the Aosta Valley region, the municipality of Verrès is rather central and is easily reachable via the main transport routes.
The choice to create a new volume can respond in a way more suited to the social demands that the entire Italian territory is facing, starting also from the recent pandemic experience. In fact, with respect to the new social and health function that it is desired to include, the existing building requires detailed structural investigations and checks, which could not be carried out due to lack of technical documentation and which were not the subject of the study conducted, and in any case massive interventions to make the building safe and to house the health function.
The new intervention offers great potential, future and futuristic, to guarantee an innovative and cutting-edge socio-health center not only for the Aosta Valley region but for the entire national territory. The CB could actually become a hub for testing technologies and devices to support the user not only on hospital days but also once he is discharged.
The intervention - which is not part of the activities of the PNRR - is free from the timescales imposed by Next Generation Europe funds, but the hope is that this structure can be designed and built in a short period of time to allow the community to be guaranteed a cutting-edge healthcare facility that can not only respond to the needs of the citizens of Verrès but also to the residents of the surrounding valleys.
