For its ability to launch a major project involving extraordinary maintenance of the infrastructure and works that have enabled the hydraulic functionality of the Po Valley countryside, particularly in terms of irrigation and drainage, and which serve as an example of traditional technological knowledge and cultural identity. The project for the maintenance and preservation of the structures and devices—which are essential for ensuring the hydrological and ecological balance of the landscape of the Lombardy Ticino Valley Park—combined with the preservation and transmission of traditional knowledge, has made it possible to reactivate an entire system that can still be used today thanks to the skilful conservation work carried out using low-impact materials.
