Rethinking Buckminster Fuller in the AI Age

As part of Milano Arch Week, taking place from October 27 to November 2, 2025, at the Politecnico di Milano and the Triennale, several initiatives will be dedicated to the multifaceted figure of Buckminster Fuller, marking the 130th anniversary of his birth.

The ABC Department will participate with an installation on the Bonardi campus, specifically on the Bonardi Terrace, recreating Fuller’s iconic geodesic dome using fabric.

The dome will be reconstructed using textiles developed by the MaBa.SAPERLAb Laboratory and by Material Balance, a project focusing on digital techniques and circular innovations in architecture (scientific supervisor: Prof. Ingrid Paoletti, ABC Department), in collaboration with ATI Project.
