Summary

Construction sector is undergoing disruptive transformations highlighting the need to rethink the design of complex infrastructure for sport, health and leisure. New habits and needs emerged highlighting the role of built environment in providing social platform for sustainability, innovation and inclusion as global challenges for decarbonisation, health and wellbeing in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Green New Deal and specific national recovery plans. The Department ABC (Architecture, Built environment and Construction engineering) has the aim of exploring new scenarios, face post-pandemic needs with a new vision able to anticipate innovation through tools and methodologies that give added value to all the stakeholders. The event “NEW CHALLENGES FOR COMPLEX CONSTRUCTIONS: INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY” is a platform for sharing innovative ideas, new solution for the built environment and a strategic vision of sustainability toward multidisciplinary and transnational research business opportunities.
