Born in Milano, 3 May 1964.
1989 Degree with honours. Politecnico di Milano, School of Architecture.
1996 Specialization Degree in Monument Restoration (Politecnico di Milano).
1996 PhD in Conservation of Architectural Heritage.
1999 Post-Doc benefit holder in Conservation of Architectural Heritage.
2002 Research benefit holder “Le pratiche di manutenzione specifiche per il patrimonio culturale- Manteinance of cultural heritage”.
2005 Research Professor (domain: Restoration).
2010 Associate Professor in Politecnico di Milano, Department of Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering, she is part of the research Unit Cultural Heritage Planned Conservation, coordinator Stefano Della Torre.

She teaches Building Conservation within the master of Architecture.
In the last three-year she focuses her research on innovative lines related to topical issues and still little explored such as the energy efficiency in the built heritage, particularly on the indoor environment of historic buildings, the process related to the work of restoration and preventive conservation from the start-up phase with the strategic involvement of the Public Administration and the issue of communication of cultural heritage within the more general framework of the strategy for development.  
Author of more than 90 publications, she designed restoration intervention of monumental buildings such as part of Castello Sforzesco in Milan.
Valeria Pracchi participated to the proposal phase and the research phase in the following national and international projects:
