Environmental Engineering with a PhD in Energy, she became Researcher in Building Physics in 2002 at the Department ABC of Politecnico di Milano, where, in September 2017, she became Associate Professor.

Main research topics: biomass and biofuels, energy efficiency, integration of renewable sources in buildings, application of innovative technologies for energy saving and distributed generation of energy, energy-sustainable urban development, urban metabolism, analysis of energy and material flows for food production.

She has collaborated with professional firms, research institutions and foreign universities including the Academy of Architecture of Mendrisio and SUPSI of Lugano.

She has participated in numerous national and international research projects, publishing their scientific results in international journals, books and conference proceedings.

She was a member of Annex 49 ECBCS Low Exergy Systems for High-Performance Buildings and Communities and of Annex 64 EBC LowEx Communities – Optimized Performance of Energy Supply Systems with Exergy Principles.

She is a member of the technical-scientific committee of Fiper, the Italian Federation of Producers of Energy from Renewable Sources and of other groups working on circular economy and food policy.
