Marco Vincenzo Valente

Marco Valente graduated cum laude in Civil Engineering and obtained a PhD in Earthquake Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. Currently he is Associate Professor at Politecnico di Milano and teaches “Retrofitting design of structures subjected to seismic loading” (School of Engineering), “Seismic design of buildings” and “Structural Design” (School of Architecture).

His research activity mainly focuses on seismic design and retrofitting of structures, innovative techniques for seismic protection of structures, seismic performance assessment of steel, reinforced concrete, steel-concrete composite, precast and masonry structures.

He is author of about 180 scientific papers in the field of Earthquake and Structural Engineering.
