Architect, with a PhD in Ergo-Technical Building Engineering, Laura Elisabetta Malighetti is Associate Professor of Architectural Technology at the ABC Department of Politecnico di Milano. She works in the field of the definition of strategies and tools for the design and functional-spatial and technological redevelopment of buildings, particularly for residential use.
She conducts researches in applied innovative technological solutions in buildings refurbishment, with specific focus on the use of bioclimatic technologies for the renovation of existing buildings, as well as in-depth analyses of design tools for flexibility in terms of building typology and technology in architectural projects. In these subjects she took part in research projects of national interest and in European research projects; she has also worked with an advisory role for public and private organizations. She is the author of several books and articles published in scientific journals in these fields.
She is Professor of Building Refurbishment and Conservation Course of the Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering and Fundamentals of Functional and Spatial Organization Course of the Bachelor of Science in Building Engineering at the School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Construction Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. She has also been scientific advisor for the magazines Spazio e Società and Il Sole 24 Ore Arketipo.
