ICAR/12 - Architectural technology

Elisabetta Ginelli, architect, PhD in Architectural Technology, is a Full Professor in Architectural Technology, ICAR/12, at the Politecnico of Milano. She carries on research in the Department of Architecture, Built environment and Construction Engineering (ABC). She teaches in the Bachelor in Architecture Design and Laurea Magistrale of Architecture Science of the AUIC School; she also teaches in Master, PhD and advanced courses. Her focus in research is the technological and environmental design. She deals in a systemic way in technological innovation and in technology of process and product, at urban and product scale, about new and existing building. The core of her research are the principles of feasibility and enforceability of the project, through the application of multi-dimensional methods of analysis for the assessment of sustainability and eco-efficiency of the buildings. The focus on the research is based on morpho-techno-typological residential spaces innovation. Author of numerous publications, she is scientific chief of national researches and participates as researcher in national and international conferences. She is a member of editorial scientific committees and deputy director of the series Materials architecture and town planning. Since 2003 she is the departmental educational coordinator. She was Member of Council of School until 2015, taking part in planning, design and management of the university students curriculum.
