Chiara Baglione


ICAR/18 - History of architecture

She graduated in Architecture at IUAV, Venezia, where she earned a Ph.D. in History of Architecture, with a dissertation on Pietro da Cortona and Santa Maria in via Lata in Rome (2001). Visiting Scholar at the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montreal (2003), from 2008 to 2016 she was Assistant Professor at Università Kore, Enna. Since March 2016 she is Assistant Professor at Politecnico di Milano, where she teaches History of Contemporary Architecture and History of Architecture.

Her research activities have focused on the history of architecture from the 16th century to the 20th century. She has written essays on Pietro da Cortona as an architect (in Storia dell’architettura italiana. Il Seicento, edited by A. Scotti, Electa 2004; in Nuovi Antichi. Committenti, cantiere, architetti 1400-1600, Electa 2003; in «Annali di Architettura»). She is author of the book Casabella 1928-2008 (Electa, 2008), co-editor of the book Pietro Lingeri (Electa, 2004), editor of the book Ernesto Nathan Rogers (Franco Angeli, 2012). She has contributed essays and chapters to collective works and articles on contemporary architecture in «Casabella» and in other magazines.

She has participated in the Research Project of National Interest, PRIN 2008: “Libri, incisioni e immagini d’architettura come fonti per il progetto in Italia. XV-XX secolo”.

She is a member of the editorial board of the magazine «Casabella».
