Born in 1977, MS degree cum laude in Architecture, PhD. in Technologies for Architecture and Environment,  Carol Monticelli is currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture, Built Environment and Engineering Construction at Politecnico di Milano (Polimi), Test Manager of the biaxial rig – Clustex, Polimi.From 2003 to 2015 82 publications: in 53 as the unique author (or volume editor in some cases), 29 are in co-authoring and in 13 among these lasts as first author. 1 Patent. Member of SPACE (Experimental process for architecture and life cycle of building products) Research Unit  at the same Department. Her research progress in last 5 years is characterized, on the one hand, by a constant interest in deepening themes of eco-sustainable design of buildings, the environmental impact in construction and the Life Cycle Assessment in architecture; and, on the other, by an interest in the processes of technological innovation and material, in order to analyse the application scenarios of new lightweight and textile materials in the construction industry.Fellowships and Awards: 2008 PostDoc grant (1yr) held by Fratelli Confalonieri Foundation (Competition of yrs. 2007-2008 – Postdoc grant for research to be performed at Milan universities); 2008 Grant for PhD Thesis 2007 held by Engineers Association of Bozen Province, Italy, international committee (Grant with merit and mention about innovation in the design and construction process); 2004 Study and Improvement Grant held by Fratelli Confalonieri Foundation (Competition of yrs 2003-2004 – PhD Grants for PhD candidates of the Universities of Milan), stated that I started the PhD without Grant, the grant supported my PhD for the last 2yrs; 2004 Master Thesis Grant “Egisto Camerini” held by Assobeton – National Association of concrete products industries (Grant with merit and mention about the sustainability and precast of concrete).Memberships of scientific societies: Associated member of 2 international associations: TensiNet*, elected as WG LCA coordinator (2015-2016), coord.
