Research topics
He is involved as coordinator of funded research projects on the following subjects:
– Modal and structural identification
– Assessment of existing bridges and structures
– Dynamic and seismic continuous monitoring of bridges and Cultural Heritage structures
– Vibration-based identification of structural anomalies and damage
– Microwave remote sensing
Author or co-author of more than 200 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and proceedings of International conferences. Member of the Scientific Committee of the main international conferences on structural and experimental dynamics: EURODYN, EVACES, IOMAC, SMART.
He has held Keynote Lectures in several International conferences, such as EVACES 2013, IABSE Conference Rotterdam 2013, EURODYN 2011, Arch Bridges 2010 and SMART 2009.

Teaching activity
Classes on Structural Engineering and Earthquake Engineering in the School of Architecture, City Planning and Contruction Engineering of Politecnico di Milano.
Member of the Academic Board of the Doctoral Program on Architecture, Built environment and Construction engineering (PhD.ABC) of Politecnico di Milano.
Advisor of various PhD Theses within the Doctoral Program on Structural Seismic and Geotechnical Engineering.
